Structure and Organization

Volkswagon's website is structurally and visually pleasing. The main events take place at center stage and other minimal news and information is located towards the bottom of the website. The main navigation is separated into categories that help guests and VW owners navigate throughout the site without having to search through the site directory, etc.

The user is also capable of building their dream car, searching for neaby car dealers, and last but certainly not least, going directly to the source by typing a question/comment into the search bar. The bottom navigation allows the user to explore assorted vehicles.

Typography

The typography on vw.com almost entirely uses a sans serif font throughout the majority of the website. They play with the balance of large and smaller type that creates a nice balance while neither becomes to heavy/light in any particular area. The type is usually black and white though there are exceptions to headlines and many of the various links throughout the site.

Alignment and Sharpness

Footers, main content areas, and navigation all line up nicely. There are elements (such as rollover information) that also practice alginment to elements within their own area. I wouldn't say that everything in the whole site lines up, but I don't think tha was the intention. There seems to be some variety and randomness created in the site but it really works well together and provides a great viewing experience that is both fun
and knowledgeable.
